Man Dies in Multi-Car Accident on Interstate 80 [Placer County, CA]
61-Year-Old Man Killed in Rollover Collision near Newcastle Road
PLACER COUNTY, CA (February 24, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a male driver died in a multi-car accident on Interstate 80.
The incident took place on February 4th, at around 12:17 p.m., along Interstate 80 near Newcastle Road.
According to reports, a Dodge truck driver was traveling eastbound when he collided with a bus for unknown reasons. The impact of the collision caused the Dodge to hit the center median and flip over it, hitting a Toyota Prius on the opposite side of the freeway. The Dodge then continued, hitting a Chevrolet Silverado, a black Kia, and a Toyota RAV4.
Responding officers then arrived and pronounced the driver of the Dodge dead at the scene. At this time, the name of the victim remains unknown. He is identified only as a 61-year-old man from Meadow Vista.
Meanwhile, medics transported the driver of the Chevrolet to a local hospital for treatment. Additionally, the other involved drivers reported minor injuries.
