27-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Collision on Polk Street
PHOENIX, AZ (February 13, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, Isaiah Montez Reid was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on 7th Street.
Officers responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m., near Polk Street on February 7th.
According to reports, Reid was attempting to cross 7th street mid-block when the driver of a southbound vehicle struck him.
Shortly after, another southbound vehicle hit the severely injured pedestrian. Upon impact, the second driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
Medics arrived and transported 27-year-old Reid to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following preliminary duties, crews say the driver that stayed at the scene was not under the influence. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
