Anthony Nguyen and Ryan Au Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on Gates Pass Road [Tucson, AZ]
Two Men Pronounced Dead after Head-On Speeding Accident near Kinney Road
TUCSON, AZ (February 13, 2023) – Saturday night, Anthony Nguyen and Ryan Au were killed in a wrong-way collision on Gates Pass Road.
Around 9:45 p.m., police responded to the scene just east of Kinney Road on February 4th.
Per reports, Au was driving a westbound car on a bend of Gates Pass Road and crossed the center divider. As a result, the car struck an eastbound pickup-truck occupied by four people, head-on.
Medics arrived and pronounced and 20-year-old Au and his passenger, 23-year-old Nguyen dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported four occupants from inside the pickup-truck to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Following preliminary duties, investigators say excessive speed was a factor in the collision. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
