Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision on Driver Road [Bakersfield, CA]
Traffic Collision on Driver Road near McFarland Left One Fatality
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 10, 2023) – Thursday morning, a woman sustained fatal injuries after a two-vehicle collision on Driver Road.
According to reports, the incident happened just before 6:00 a.m. near the intersection at Sherwood Avenue.
Investigators said that a Toyota Rav 4 failed to yield at a stop sign while going north on Driver Road at a high rate of speed. Consequently, the Toyota hit an eastbound 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe on Sherwood Avenue going at around 65 mph.
Responding medical personnel arrived at the scene shortly after and pronounced the 69-year-old female Toyota driver dead at the scene. At this time, officials have not released her identity to the public.
Meanwhile, the 51-year-old man driving the Chevrolet did not sustain any injuries.
The Bakersfield Officials are working to determine the cause of the Driver Road two-vehicle collision.
