47-Year-Old Man Killed in Deadly Pedestrian Accident near SR 86
INDIO, CA (February 9, 2023) – Late Tuesday night, police responded to a crash that claimed the life of Bobby Canales.
The incident happened on February 7th at around 11:05 p.m. when police were dispatched to eastbound Interstate 10, just west of State Route 86.
According to CHP Public Information Officer David Torres, they found Canales on the highway and pronounced him dead.
In addition, the vehicle that struck Canales was nowhere to be found in the area.
Furthermore, the incident resulted in closures on all the lanes of the freeway for about three hours to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, the suspect was not yet determined and the crash is still under investigation. Indio authorities will release additional information as it becomes available to the public.
