58-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Deadly Hit-and-Run near Broadway

PHOENIX, AZ (January 23, 2023) – Wednesday night, Andrew Joaquin Salazar was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on 28th Street.

Police responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., near Broadway on January 18th.

According to reports, Salazar attempted to cross the street mid-block when the driver of a westbound vehicle struck him. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced 58-year-old Salazar dead at the scene.

At this time, the suspect remains at large. Phoenix police encourage any witnesses to contact local officers as soon as possible.
