Diego Armando Ramirez Dies in Head-On Crash on Highway 223 [Bakersfield, CA]
Joshua Goreham Involved in Semi-Truck Accident near Tower Line Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 19, 2023) – Thursday evening, a two-vehicle crash on Highway 223 claimed the life of Diego Armando Ramirez.
It happened on January 12th, just after 5:30 p.m., on Highway 223 near Tower Line Road.
Investigations showed that Ramirez was driving a 2018 Mazda traveling westbound on Highway 223. There, he made an unsafe turn and traveled into the path of a Peterbilt semi-truck headed eastbound. The driver of the truck, 31-year-old Joshua Goreham, tried to avoid the Mazda but they collided head-on. The impact of the collision caused Ramirez to become pinned and he sustained major injuries.
First responders pronounced 27-year-old Diego Armando Ramirez, of Arvin, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Goreham was not reported to be hurt in the collision.
Following the collision, Bakersfield officials closed down the area surrounding the collision to perform cleanup and preliminary duties.
