Multi-Vehicle Collision near Indian School Road Left One Fatality

PHOENIX, AZ (January 17, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, police responded to a two-car accident on 47th Avenue that claimed the life of Irene Lujan.

According to Phoenix Officials, the incident occurred at around 3:00 a.m., January 14th, in the area of 47th Avenue and Indian School Road.

Per police, two vehicles were involved in the crash when one ran through a posted red light. Emergency crews extricated one individual from the wreck and they were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased as 27-year-old Irene Lujan.

Following the incident, the other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. He was assessed and did not show any signs of impairment from alcohol and/or drugs.

Moreover, no arrests have been made at this time and the crash is still under investigation. Additional information will be posted as it is made available to the public.
