61-Year-Old Man Dies in 2-Car Accident near El Cortez Place

PHOENIX, AZ (January 17, 2023) – Monday evening, a two-car crash on 67th Avenue claimed the life of Ruben Garcia.

The incident happened on December 26th, just after 7:30 p.m., near 67th Avenue and El Cortez Place.

According to reports, a vehicle was attempting to make a turn onto 67th Avenue from El Cortez Place. For reasons currently unknown, the vehicle collided with another vehicle headed southbound on 67th Avenue.

Following the collision, first responders pronounced 61-year-old Garcia dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics transported three others to a local hospital for treatment.

At this time, investigators have not released any further information regarding the crash. Officials will release more details as they become available to the public.
