19-Year-Old Driver Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident near Kitching Street

MORENO VALLEY, CA (January 20, 2023) – Thursday night, Arnold Perez was killed and his passenger was hurt in a 2-car crash on Iris Avenue.

The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m., near Kitching Street on December 8th.

For reasons currently under investigation, a Toyota Sequoia and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup-truck collided in the intersection. Officers say Perez was driving the Toyota.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 19-year-old Perez, of Coachella dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported a passenger inside the Chevy to Riverside University Medical Center.

In addition, two other occupants inside the Chevy sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. No further information was released and any witnesses are encouraged to contact Moreno Valley Station at 951-486-6700.
