61-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Jackson Street

PHOENIX, AZ (December 20, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, Kathleen McGuire was fatally struck in a pedestrian hit-and-run on 27th Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 3:45 a.m., near Jackson Street on December 6th.

Per reports, the driver of a vehicle struck McGuire and immediately fled the scene without contacting authorities. Upon arrival, officers located 61-year-old McGuire with life-threatening injuries before she was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, officers only described the involved vehicle as a dark-colored sedan.

Emergency crews closed off a large portion of the roadway to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway. Once available, further details will be provided.
