Temecula Man and Dog Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision near Madera de Playa Drive

TEMECULA, CA (December 14, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, Steven Lowe and his dog were killed in a head-on accident on Calle Contento. 

The incident happened around 2:14 p.m., just north of Madera de Playa Drive. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2004 Chevrolet Tracker crossed over the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2015 Mercedez-Benz SUV.

Due to the extent of his condition, the Chevrolet driver later succumbed to his injuries at Wildormar’s Inland Valley Medical Center. The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau later identified the deceased driver as 71-year-old Lowe, of Temecula.

One of the two dogs inside the Chevy died from the collision. Meanwhile, the 52-year-old female driver of the Mercedes sustained significant injuries and was transported to the same hospital.
