Driver Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Granite Road
LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (December 14, 2022) – Late Sunday morning, one person was fatally struck in a head-on collision on Highway 247.
The incident occurred around 11:22 a.m., near Granite Road in San Bernardino County.
According to the CHP, the drivers of a red vehicle and a silver vehicle may have crossed the centerline of the roadway. As a result, both motorists collided head-on.
Due to the impact of the collision, first responders declared one person dead at the scene. However, their identity remains undisclosed to the public pending notification from the next of kin.
In addition, Mercy Air airlifted the other patient to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition.
At this time, the circumstances that led up to the fatal two-vehicle crash remain unclear, an active investigation is currently ongoing.
