29-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run near California Street

NEWARK, CA (November 10, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on Central Avenue.

The incident happened around 2:00 a.m., near California Street on November 3rd. Crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

According to reports, a 29-year-old Fremont man was walking in the area when he was struck by vehicle. The driver of the vehicle then drove away without rendering aid to the victim.

First responders arrived and found the male victim on the road with serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
