Jaen Soto Machado and Yairelma Sarahi Holguin Killed in Solo-Car Speeding Crash on South Nogales Highway [Tucson, AZ]
19-Year-Old Man, 20-Year-Old Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Collision near East Valencia Road
TUCSON, AZ (November 3, 2022) – Sunday, Jaen Soto Machado and Yairelma Sarahi Holguin died in a solo-car accident on South Nogales Highway.
The incident occurred near East Valencia Road on October 30th near the Tucson International Airport.
Officers say Machado was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado at a high rate of speed as he was approaching East Valencia Road. There, he struck an island that separates northbound traffic from right-turning vehicles.
The Chevy then struck the traffic signal pole at the northeast corner of the intersection. Upon impact, the Chevy broke into several parts and bursted into flames.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 19-year-old Machado and his passenger, 20-year-old Holguin dead at the scene.
Following preliminary investigations, police said that speed is a major contributing factor in the deadly crash.
