Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Cogswell Road

EL MONTE, CA (October 31, 2022) – Early Monday Morning, Robert Woo was pronounced dead after a pedestrian collision on the 10 Freeway.

Around 4:00 a.m., police responded to the scene near Cogswell.

The events leading up to the crash still remain unclear. However, reports indicate that the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area.

Upon impact, the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 86-year-old Woo dead at the scene due to the extent of his condition. 

Officers closed a large portion of the roadway to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway. Those with further information are encouraged to contact California Highway Patrol as soon as possible.
