Several Victims Hospitalized after Pursuit Crash near Cactus Avenue

MORENO VALLEY, CA (October 20, 2022) – Monday, Gabriel Cabrera and Robert Ortega Valdez were arrested after a pursuit on Indian Street.

Officers located Cabrera speeding in a 2008 BMW sedan south on Indian Street around 10:15 a.m., near Dracaea Street.

Police then initiated a pursuit while Cabrera was driving erratically at a high rate of speed. Amidst the chase, Cabrera ran through multiple stop signs and red lights while driving on the wrong side of the road.

Shortly after, the suspect vehicle collided with a Ford Ranger at the intersection of Kitching Street and Cactus Avenue. The impact of the collision caused the Ford to overturn and collide with two other vehicles.

Following the collision, deputies arrested 25-year-old Gabriel Cabrera Jr. and 21-year-old Robert Ortega Valdez, both from Moreno Valley.

Meanwhile, the occupants inside the pickup-truck and the two other vehicles were transported to Riverside University Medical Center for further treatment.
