Woman Killed in Traffic Collision near Buellton Flats

SANTA MARIA, CA (October 17, 2022) – 73-year-old Linda McIntyre lost her life Wednesday in a two-car crash on Highway 246.

The accident occurred around 1:00 p.m. along the area of Buellton Flats on October 5th, according to Santa Maria Officials.

As per reports, Stephen Waldman was driving westbound on 246 when he pulled over to the side of the road and attempted to make a U-turn for unknown reasons.

McIntyre was following Waldman in a Honda CRV when he made the unsafe turn in front of her. As a result, Waldman’s car collided with the CRV’s right rear, causing the CRV to careen off the roadway and strike a tree.

Paramedics rushed McIntyre to Marian Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Tragically, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital due to the extent of her injuries.

Police added that Waldman did not sustain any injuries but his passenger, Charlotte Ann Buck, 73, of Duarte sustained moderate injuries, was taken by ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Furthermore, the crash temporarily closed Highway 246 to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
