Abriauna Hoffman, Hunter Balberdi and Magdalyn Ogden Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 17 [New River, AZ]
3 Killed, 4 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash near Table Mesa Road
NEW RIVER, AZ (October 12, 2022) – Early Monday morning, Abriauna Hoffman, Hunter Balberdi, and Magdalyn Ogden died in a car crash.
The incident occurred just before 4:00 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the highway near Table Mesa Road on October 10th.
Per reports, a 25-year-old man from Tempe was driving a vehicle south on the northbound lanes. As a result, he struck three northbound vehicles.
Medics arrived and pronounced two victims dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported a third victim to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The coroner’s office later identified the deceased victims as 18-year-old Hoffman, from Clarkston WA, 18-year-old Ogden from Clarkston, WA and 19-year-old Balberdi of Wailuku, HI.
Police officers located the wrong-way driver unconscious inside his vehicle with major injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.
Meanwhile, the northbound lanes of the Interstate were blocked for several hours as officers conducted further investigations.
