One Person Died after Truck and Train Collision on Interstate 680

FAIRFIELD, CA (October 12, 2022) – Sunday afternoon, a driver tragically died following a train collision on Interstate 680.

The incident happened on October 2nd, at around 2:05 p.m. on train tracks near Interstate 680 in Fairfield.

According to reports, the victim driver was backing out of a house on a dirt road when it was struck by a train. The impact of the collision broke the truck in half and half of it remained stuck to the train.

Responding officers arrived shortly after and found the victim dead at the scene. At this time, police have not released the name, age, or city of residence of the deceased.

Additionally, officials suspended the train operations during cleanup and investigations.
