Daniel Franco Killed in Fiery Multi-Vehicle Crash on Santa Ana Freeway [Irvine, CA]

59-Year-Old Man Killed, 2 Injured in Multi-Car Accident near Jamboree Road

IRVINE, CA (September 26, 2022) – Saturday morning, Daniel Franco was killed in a fiery multi-vehicle crash on Santa Ana Freeway.

The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway. Dispatchers responded to the scene just west of Jamboree Road on September 24th.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that multiple vehicles, including a semi-truck that caught fire were involved.

Fire officials arrived at the scene around 4:08 a.m., and pronounced 59-year-old Franco dead at the scene. Additionally, two other victims also sustained unspecified injuries.

Paramedics transported the remaining occupants to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Although, authorities have not yet released their identities.

Emergency crews closed both directions of the roadway to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided.
