37-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Scooter Collision near Florida Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 24, 2022) – Late Wednesday afternoon, a man was hospitalized after a motorized scooter crash on Madison Avenue.
The incident happened around 4:55 p.m., near Florida Street.
Investigators say a 37-year-old man was heading west on a motorized scooter in the marked bicycle lane on Madison Avenue.
Meanwhile, a 57-year-old man driving a Dodge Ram 350 pickup-truck was attempting to turn right onto the 4600 block of Florida Street. There, the scooter struck the truck’s right front panel.
Due to the impact of the collision, the male scooter rider suffered an open compound fracture. Medics transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
