Traffic Collison on Eastbound Interstate 8 Left Seven Hurt

WINTERHAVEN, CA (August 18, 2022) – Thursday morning, seven victims were hospitalized following a multi-car crash on Interstate 8.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m., on August 4th.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a semi-truck driver was traveling eastbound on Interstate 8 when he hit one of the vehicles from behind. Upon impact, the other vehicle accelerated and collided with a third vehicle.

Reports stated that one of the involved vehicles had four passengers inside. The other vehicle carried three passengers, while the semi-truck carried only the driver.

Responding paramedics transported seven people with varying injuries to Yuma Regional Medical Center for further treatment. Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver declined medical assistance and cooperated with the authorities.

At this time officers have not released any additional information about the parties involved. However, an active investigation into the collision on Interstate 8 is underway.
