Traffic Accident near Kings Canyon Left Suspect Arrested
FRESNO, CA (July 29, 2022) – Tuesday morning, police arrested a man after a hit-and-run crash near Winery Avenue.
The crash happened on July 5th, at around 9:30 a.m. Afterward, the man fled the scene and drove east along Kings Canyon. A little further down the road, he lost control of the car in front of a Darrels Mini Storage.
When police responded to the scene, they found the man locked up inside the vehicle. The suspect refused to get out for about 45 minutes. Eventually, police began to worry about his safety and broke the window of the car to get him out. They arrested him shortly afterward.
Officials say he will be evaluated by a mental health professional. At this time, it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol, or mental illnesses are a factor in this situation. However, he has been charged with hit-and-run.
