Deadly Pedestrian Crash on King Ranch Road in Riverside
RIVERSIDE, CA (June 27, 2022) – Friday morning, one victim was pronounced dead after a pedestrian accident on La Sierra Avenue.
The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m., near King Ranch Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after, on June 24th.
According to Sgt. Ryan Taack, a Honda Civic was heading southbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle, jumped the curb and hit the pedestrian. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The 25-year-old driver from Riverside, has not yet been identified.
Following preliminary investigations, crews determined that alcohol or drugs did not play a factor in the collision. At this time, an active investigation is still underway.
