Rider Dies in Traffic Collision on Sheep Creek Road

PHELAN, CA (June 17, 2022) – On Wednesday afternoon, a vehicle crash on Sunnyslope Road claimed the life of one person, police said.

On June 15th, the accident happened on Sunnyslope Road and Sahara Road, east of Sheep Creek Road at around 1:27 p.m., involving a bicyclist and a SUV.

Furthermore, police said the Chevy Tahoe driver stayed and cooperated with the investigations.

Moreover, the driver stated that he was driving down a dirt road when the rider showed up and was struck by the front of the SUV.

Authorities said the victim was around 14-15 years old. Meanwhile, first responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the boy dead at the scene.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
