Road Blocked Following Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash near Highway 46
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 19, 2022) – A two-vehicle crash on Highway 33 claimed the life of an unidentified individual Saturday afternoon.
The collision took place at the intersection of Highways 33 and 46 at 5 p.m. on May 7th, per initial reports.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the events leading up to the crash are currently unknown.
However, a U-Haul truck towing a vehicle slammed into the rear of a semi-truck transporting liquified petroleum.
Due to the extent of their condition, first responders declared one individual dead at the scene. At this time, the CHP officials have not released the identity of the deceased.
Furthermore, the accident closed the surrounding area for a brief time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
Bakersfield Officials are currently working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash, as an active investigation continues.
