Five Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 215 Freeway [Riverside, CA]

Five-Vehicle Crash North of Central Avenue Left 5 Injured

RIVERSIDE, CA (April 27, 2022) – A multi-vehicle crash along 215 Freeway left at least 5 people injured and prompted partial closures on the northbound side Thursday evening.

According to the CHP, the crash happened around 10:35 p.m. in the No. 1 and 2 lanes of northbound I-215, just north of Central Avenue.

Authorities determined that the crash involved a box truck, a pickup, and at least three sedans.

As a result, the HOV, fast lane, and No. 2 lane remained blocked for an extended period of time.

In addition, officials also issued a SigAlert around 10:50 am due to the ensuing traffic jam.

The Riverside County Fire Department crews who arrived at the scene discovered one victim with major injuries, one with moderate injuries and three with minor injuries.

However, the three people with minor injuries declined to be hospitalized and were released at the scene.

At this time, Riverside Officials continue to investigate the multi-vehicle crash.
