Traffic Accident on Clovis Avenue Left One Charged
CLOVIS, CA (April 27, 2022) – Authorities arrested one driver following a hit-and-run crash on 5th Street last Wednesday evening.
The incident happened at about 9:40 p.m. in the area along Clovis Avenue and 5th Street.
According to reports, officers witnessed a driver collide with gas pumps at a nearby business.
Consequently, when officers attempted to stop the car, the driver allegedly failed to stop and sped away, resulting in a chase.
Subsequently, the suspect drove recklessly before pulling over and attempting to flee on foot through the Clovis Community Medical Center parking lot near Herndon and Temperance avenues.
Eventually, Officers located the suspect and arrested him on suspicion of hit-and-run and reckless driving.
Officials are also assessing the suspect to determine whether he was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, CHP withheld the name of the suspect and continues to investigate the incident.
