34-Year-Old Rider Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Oasis Road

REDDING, CA (April 21, 2022) – Friday afternoon, 34-year-old David Gene Burkhart died in a motorcycle collision on Interstate 5.

According to reports, officers attempted to pull over Burkhart near Interstate 5 and Oasis Road. For reasons unknown, Burkhart failed to stop and fled the scene.

Eventually, the suspect rider crashed his motorcycle into a vehicle near North Market Street and Twin View Boulevard.

As a result, medical crews transported Burkhart to Mercy Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. At this time, Redding Police are still currently investigating the accident.

The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened. Once available, further details will be provided.
