One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Dobson Road
MESA, AZ (April 19, 2022) – Tuesday night, Aaron Conger was killed and a woman was hospitalized after a pedestrian collision on Main Street.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m., at the intersection of Dobson Road and Main Street.
Officers learned that Conger and a woman were attempting to cross the street when Conger tripped over the light rail curb and fell into the road.
The woman tried to help him up when a driver swerved to avoid a collision. However, a second driver ending up striking both pedestrians in the street.
Medics pronounced 40-year-old Conger dead at the scene, due to the extent of his injuries. Meanwhile, crews also transported the woman to a nearby hospital where she is expected to survive.
The involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
During cleanup and preliminary duties, crews closed off Main Street before it was later reopened.
