Alisa Anne Pettey-Torres Dies in Head-On Collision on Highway 29 [Lake County, CA]
59-Year-Old Killed in Wrong-Way Accident near Bar X Entrance Road
LAKE COUNTY, CA (April 18, 2022) – Friday night, 59-year-old Alisa Anne Pettey-Torres was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 29.
The accident happened around 5:18 p.m., along the northbound lanes of the highway. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
Per reports, Pettey-Torres was driving a southbound 2005 Toyota Corolla when she crossed the double yellow lines into the northbound lanes. As a result, she collided head-on with a northbound 2012 BMW XS, just north of the Bar X entrance road.
Crews extricated Pettey-Torres from the Toyota and attempted life-saving measures. However, medics later pronounced her dead at the scene.
The BMW was driven by David Thurber, of Hidden Valley Lake who sustained moderate injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to reports.
Following preliminary investigations, police believed that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the accident. At this time, an active investigation into the crash remains underway.
