46-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Collision near Santa Fe Drive
ENCINITAS, CA (April 12, 2022) – Late Sunday night, one man was pronounced dead after a pedestrian accident on Interstate 5.
The crash occurred around 11:50 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the highway on April 3. Dispatchers responded to the scene near Santa Fe Drive.
As per reports, the driver of a white Jeep Grand Cherokee struck the pedestrian in the No. 2 lane. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the 46-year-old man from Solana Beach, dead at the scene.
At this time, authorities have not released the identity of the deceased victim. In addition, crews only described the involved driver as a 50-year-old. Investigators say the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
