Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Collision on Rancho Vista Boulevard [Palmdale, CA]

1 Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident on 10th Street

PALMDALE, CA (April 8, 2022) – Tuesday evening, a pedestrian was fatally struck in a deadly collision on Rancho Vista Boulevard.

Around 9:00 p.m., the collision happened just east of 10th Street. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Reports indicate that a man was walking in the westbound lanes of Rancho Vista Boulevard. As the driver of a BMW swerved in attempt to avoid crashing into another vehicle, they hit the pedestrian.

Shortly after, the driver of a blue Honda Civic that was traveling behind the BMW, also veered to avoid hitting the pedestrian. Although, the Honda ended up colliding with the BMW.

Despite life-saving efforts, medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the BMW driver sustained only minor injuries. Afterward, both drivers stayed at the scene and were responsive to the investigation.

As per reports, alcohol or drugs do not play a factor with the drivers involved. However, officers are still investigating if the impairment of alcohol was a factor with the pedestrian.

A portion of Rancho Vista Boulevard was shut down between 10th Street East and 15th Street East. At this time, an active investigation into the accident is ongoing.
