Motorcyclist Fatally Struck in Collision near North Skousen Road
COOLIDGE, AZ (March 28, 2022) – Saturday, Christopher Proffer was arrested after a fatal motorcycle collision on State Route 87.
The accident happened near North Skousen Road. According to reports, 35-year-old Proffer initiated a U-turn while driving in the intersection. There, he collided with a motorcyclist.
The impact pushed Proffer’s truck off the road and into a large power pole, causing it to buckle into the roadway. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist died at the scene, while Proffer received minor injuries.
Meanwhile, Proffer received a search warrant to collect his blood for a BAC test, and the results showed a BAC of 0.300+. Afterward, authorities charged Proffer with second-degree murder.
The crash blocked the road for several hours while the crews cleared the scene and removed the downed power lines. In addition, local officers did not disclose further details about the deceased victim.
At this time, an active investigation into the collision continues.
