Two Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Liberty Elementary School
RIVERSIDE, CA (March 22, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a pedestrian accident on Roosevelt Street left a woman and a child dead.
The incident happened just before 4:00 p.m., in the area of Hayes and Roosevelt Street near Liberty Elementary School.
According to Riverside Police, a woman and two children were crossing the street within a marked crosswalk. There, the driver of a blue-colored 2020 Range Rover vehicle struck the pedestrians.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the woman and one of the children dead at the scene. Moreover, medical personnel transported the other child to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Crews say he did not suffer from any injuries.
Following preliminary investigations, authorities confirmed that drugs or alcohol did not play a factor.
