Male Pedestrian Struck and Hurt in Collision near Broadmoor Plaza

SANTA BARBARA, CA (March 17, 2022) – Monday night, a man was hospitalized following a pedestrian crash on State Street.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., near Broadmoor Plaza.

Authorities say a pedestrian was crossing State Street towards a mountain at Broadmoor Plaza. There, an eastbound sedan heading struck him while traveling at a speed of 40–45 mph. The pedestrian was then thrown into the middle of the intersection.

Consequently, the pedestrian sustained severe injuries. Medics transported the victim by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, officials did not disclose further details regarding the driver of the vehicle. At this time, the Santa Barbara Police Department is still investigating the crash.
