Joseph Hickman Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Foothill Boulevard [Oakland, CA]
40-Year-Old Rider Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Collision on 4th Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (March 15, 2022) – Joseph Hickman was killed Wednesday evening, in a motorcycle crash on Foothill Boulevard.
According to police, the collision happened around 8:15 p.m., at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, in the East Lake District.
Reports indicate that two men on motorcycles were speeding west on Foothill when one of them failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, the rider slammed into a passenger truck that was heading north on 4th Avenue.
The collision ejected the rider from the motorcycle onto the roadway. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 40-year-old Hickman, of Emeryville dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the second motorcyclist remained uninjured despite crashing into Hickman. Although, crews have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Oakland Officials continue to investigate the deadly motorcycle accident. At this time, authorities are asking anyone with information to contact traffic investigators at 510-777-8570.
