Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Route 210 Freeway [Rialto, CA]

Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Ayala Avenue

RIALTO, CA (March 11, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, one man was fatally struck in a deadly pedestrian crash on Route 210.

According to police, the collision happened around 2:35 a.m., on Route 210 Freeway near Ayala Avenue. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

Reports indicate that a man was standing outside of a 2006 Honda on the right shoulder of the freeway, changing the tire.

For reasons unknown, the driver of an eastbound 2022 Ford Econoline veered to the right onto the shoulder, and struck the pedestrian.

Due to the extent of his condition, paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. However, the identity of the deceased victim remains unknown.

Following preliminary investigations, alcohol and drugs were ruled out as potential factors in the crash.

Meanwhile, California Highway Patrol reminded motorists to pull over to a safe area on the roadway when changing a flat tire.

An active investigation to determine further information remains underway.
