Rider Injured in Moped Crash on Decatur Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]
52-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Moped Accident on Carmen Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (March 16, 2022) – A moped crash on Decatur Boulevard claimed the life of a one rider, Thursday morning.
Around 7:58 a.m. the collision occurred at the intersection of Decatur and Carmen Boulevard.
Furthermore, authorities said a moped rider who was going south on Decatur sped up in the marked bike lane. For reasons unknown, the moped rider passed through a red light at the intersection.
As a result, the moped rider crashed into the right front of a Toyota Camry that was reportedly initiating a left turn from Decatur to Carmen through stop-and-go traffic backed up from Washington Avenue.
Paramedics transported the moped rider, identified only as a 52-year-old male, to UMC in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. At this time, the collision is still under active investigation.
