Two Men Killed after Wrong-Way Collision near Zediker Avenue
FRESNO, CA (February 3, 2022) – A head-on crash near Belmont Avenue claimed the life of Erin Olsen and Jose Ruiz Zelaya Friday night.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 6:00 p.m., near the intersection of Belmont and Zediker Avenue.
Investigators later determined that Olsen attempted to pass two other vehicles. In doing so, he crossed directly into the path of Zelaya, who was driving a silver sedan.
As a result, the two vehicles collided head-on. First responders arrived and declared 41-year-old Olsen, of Kingsburg and 42-year-old Zelaya, of Fresno dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, California Highway Patrol officers are still investigating the deadly head-on crash. Once available, further details will be provided.
