Woman Arrested for DUI and Child Endangerment on State Route 299
FALL RIVER MILLS, CA (February 4, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, Sativa Marie Malecke was arrested after a DUI crash on State Route 299.
The incident happened in the Intermountain area town of Fall River Mills around 2:17 p.m. Crews responded to the scene shortly after.
According to California Highway Patrol, officers and medical personnel responded to the scene after receiving reports of a major injury collision.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a Dodge Charger blocking the westbound turn lane. In addition, authorities also found a white Ford Excursion left near Ray’s Food Place parking lot.
The events leading up to the collision are still unclear. However, paramedics transported an elderly woman from one of the vehicles to Mayers Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the other driver, identified as 24-year-old Malecke, and her 5-year-old girl passenger remained uninjured.
In the end, the CHP arrested Malecke and booked her in Shasta County Jail in Redding for suspected DUI, child endangerment, and other charges. Online jail records stated that she remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail or bond.
At this time, police continue to investigate the DUI crash.
