27-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Accident near Indian School Road
PHOENIX, AZ (February 1, 2022) – Saturday morning, 27-year-old Anthony Vasquez was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on 49th Street.
The incident occurred around 10:25 a.m., near the intersection of 49th Street and Indian School Road.
According to reports, a westbound vehicle struck Vasquez as he was jaywalking outside of a marked crosswalk.
Medics arrived shortly after and transported the severely injured man to a local hospital for further treatment. Due to the extent of his condition, Vasquez later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Following preliminary investigation, officers say neither speeding nor DUI were factors in the collision.
