Injuries Reported Following Big-Rig Accident near Arlington Avenue
RIVERSIDE, CA (January 25, 2022) – At least two people sustained injuries Monday afternoon, in a semi-truck collision on Airport Boulevard.
California Highway Patrol arrived to the scene around 12:40 p.m., at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Arlington Avenue.
Officials reported that a vehicle crashed into a semi-truck trailer for still unknown reasons. Upon the impact, the sedan went under the side of the truck.
Fire crews rescued and extricated two people that were trapped inside the sedan vehicle.
Medics took both victims to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Meanwhile, the truck driver escaped unscathed.
Authorities later described one of the victims as a senior citizen but they have withheld the names of all parties involved.
In addition, both directions of the roadway shutdown for an undisclosed amount of time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, officials have no information about what caused the collision, however, an active investigation is ongoing.
