36-Year-Old Modesto Man Killed in Head-On Accident Grange Road
SONORA, CA (January 21, 2022) – Saturday evening, 36-year-old Chad Baugh died in a 3-car collision on Highway 120.
The deadly crash happened around 5:30 p.m., just west of La Grange Road. Per reports, a total of three vehicles were involved.
According to police, Baugh was driving west on the highway in a 2013 Hyundai sedan at a high rate of speed. He then crossed the double yellow lines to pass a 2007 Subaru SUV driven by 53-year-old Chunli Yao, of Pleasanton.
There, he collided head-on with an eastbound 1999 Ford pickup-truck. The pickup-truck was driven by 55-year-old Henley, of Waterford.
Paramedics responded and transported Henley to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for further treatment of life-threatening injuries. Debris from the crash struck Yao’s Subaru. Although, Yao remained unharmed.
Meanwhile, crews pronounced Chad Michael Baugh dead at the scene due to the extent of his condition.
At this time, authorities have not yet determined if drugs or alcohol were factors. However, an active investigation to determine further information is still underway.
