Pedestrian Crash on Avenue J near Challenger Way Left One Fatality

LANCASTER, CA (January 24, 2022) – A pedestrian crash on Avenue J claimed the life of one person early Monday morning.

The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. when a Nissan struck the man walking east on Avenue J, between Fifth Street East and Challenger Way.

Eventually, the paramedics arrived to the intersection and declared the pedestrian dead at the scene.

The identities of all involved parties have not been released by authorities currently.

Additionally, the cause of the crash remains unclear at this time as well.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
