Four Victims Dead after 6-Vehicle Accident near Mile Marker 20

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 13, 2022) – Monday, Erica Morell and three others were killed in a wrong-way collision on Interstate 15.

The accident occurred on the southbound lanes of the highway near mile marker 20. For reasons unknown, Morell was driving a red Cadillac north on the southbound lanes.

As a result, she then collided head-on with Toyota pickup-truck causing the Toyota to burst into flames. Amidst the chaos, four more vehicles became involved in the collision.

Consequently, all three occupants inside the Toyota died at the scene. Although, their identities remain undisclosed.

Paramedics also pronounced 37-year-old Morell, of Henderson dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma. Meanwhile, crews took two people in other vehicles to University Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Officers closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 for about 10 hours during the investigation.

Following preliminary investigations, impairment is suspected to be a factor in the deadly crash. However, further circumstances surrounding the incident remain under active investigation.
