Car Collision on 38th Street Left Three Children Injured

PHOENIX, AZ (January 10, 2022) – A car collision on 38th Street left Crystal Garcia dead while her husband and three children sustained injuries early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 12:30 a.m., near 38th Street and Greenway Road.

Furthermore, officials said the impaired 18-year-old driver, Jaxon Collins was driving nearly 90 miles per hour in the area of 38th Street.

Eventually, his vehicle collided with a family car, killing the 27-year-old mother, Crystal Garcia. Her husband and three children suffered minor injuries. One of the children also suffered a broken pelvis.

Furthermore, police says Collins had a blood-alcohol level of .176 after the crash.

Moreover, authorities arrested and eventually released Collins pending the outcome of the investigation. He has since been booked into jail on charges of manslaughter, aggravated assault and endangerment.

At this time, authorities are investigating the circumstance surrounding the crash.
