47-Year-Old Man on Electric Mobility Scooter Struck and Killed on 7th Street

PHOENIX, AZ (January 6, 2022) – Wednesday morning, 47-year-old James Gray was killed in a pedestrian collision on Dunlap Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at 8:30 a.m., near the intersection of Dunlap Avenue and 7th Street.

According to reports, Gray was crossing 7th Street when he was hit by a northbound white Chevrolet Impala.

Due to the impact of the collision, the male pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries at the scene. Paramedics arrived and rushed Gray to a local hospital, where he later died.

In addition, the driver of the car remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with the investigation. Detectives examined the driver and found no symptoms of impairment.

The surrounding area was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since reopened.
