9-Year-Old Girl Killed, 3 Injured in Deadly Collision near Palm Springs

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (December 16, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, Robert Hanson was arrested after fatally striking a girl on Corkill Road.

The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m., on the afternoon of December 9.

Authorities said the driver of a white Cadillac rammed into the rear of a school bus before continuing on and hitting four students walking home.

Responding authorities found one child dead at the scene, and three others ages 8, 11 and 12 sustained injuries. Officials later identified the fatal victim as a 9-year-old girl from Desert Hot Springs.

At this time, officials have no updates of the condition of all injured victims.

Meanwhile, police eventually arrested the Cadillac driver, Robert Hanson on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run resulting in death.

California Highway Patrol continue to investigate the deadly collision and will release additional information once it becomes available.
